Small, isolated villages lacking practical roads that connect them, lack of inspirational sources among youth, multiple socioeconomic deprivations slow the socioeconomic prospects of rural areas. Distance to commercial centers, lack of better schools, and healthcare centers remain significant barriers to the development of rural areas.

Consequently, early, and often forced marriages of young girls are very common and maternal and child mortality remain higher.
